Our mission is to act as a force for good in the world. To help us fulfill this mission, we created the Force for Good Foundation®, a source of funding for protecting the environment, preserving indigenous cultures, finding cures for life-threatening diseases, and improving humanity.
Following is a select list of projects funded by the Force for Good Foundation. For a complete list of projects, visit
www.forceforgood.org.

The Seacology Foundation
Nu Skin Enterprises has teamed up with the Seacology Foundation to raise money to preserve and assist Indigenous cultures throughout the world. Annual donations from Nu Skin Enterprises help fund several projects including the construction of a rain forest canopy walkway in Samoa, a solar-powered well in Haiti and a rainforest information center in Tafua.

Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation
Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) is a genetically transmitted skin disorder that causes the development of blisters or open sores which never go away and can cover as much as 75 percent of the body. One of the major corporate supporters of EB research, Nu Skin Enterprises is committed to help scientists find a cure for EB through continued funding. The company and its distributors and employees have donated more than $500,000 to EB research since the company began its support in 1996. In addition, Chairman Blake Roney gives an annual stock donation from his non-profit foundation to the Department of Dermatology at Stanford University's School of Medicine to study cures for skin disorders, including EB. The donation should exceed $5 million over nine years.

The Hunger Project
Nu Skin Enterprises and Nu Skin Japan provide ongoing donations to The Hunger Project, a worldwide organization that provides assistance to developing countries. The organization takes a strategic approach to solving the hunger problem by providing communities with lasting society-wide solutions. Projects that the organization is involved with include training, building, and running schools as well as planting trees and building sanitary latrines.

Humanitarian Aid Relief Team (HART)
In Ghana, West Africa a disease called Buruli Ulcer (which is similar to leprosy) twists, maims, and destroys the limbs of its victims. HART has been working to eradicate Buruli Ulcer through on-site medical treatment, education, and research. In an effort to bring relief to the people of Ghana, the Force for Good Foundation has donated $21,000 to HART. With these funds, volunteer doctors anticipate eradicating this disease altogether.

Deseret International Foundation, Inc.
Nu Skin Enterprises has donated more than $40,000 to the Deseret International Foundation for their work in the Philippines and Brazil. The funds help cover the costs of operations to correct deformities such as cleft pallets, hare lips, burns, club feet and hands, crossed eyes and cataracts, and heart problems. The Deseret Foundation focuses on cases that are predictable, readily diagnosed, and require one-stage surgery.

Earthquake in Taiwan
A series of earthquakes in September 1999 devastated the island of Taiwan. Because Taiwan is such an important market to Nu Skin, the corporation arranged an initial donation of $300,000 comprised of the donations from the corporation, distributors, employees and the Force for Good Foundation.

Taiwan Island-Wide Plantation Project
Nu Skin independent distributors in Taiwan united for a series of activities including the planting of 200,000 trees in central Taiwan. John Chou, Taiwan Country General Manager of Nu Skin Enterprises, organized a symposium to restore the mangrove trees in Taiwn. Scientists from around the world attended. Nearly half of the mangrove trees in the world have been lost, but new trees were planted in Taiwan and a book on the topic has been published. The Force for Good/Seacology Foundations contributed $40,000 to the project.
