Claire H. Averett
Vice President, Human Resources
Claire Averett has served as Vice President of Human Resources since 1995. Prior to joining Nu Skin, she was Vice President of Human Resources at Novell, Inc., WordPerfect Corp. and a human resource executive at Community Nursing Services of Salt Lake. She is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, the Human Resource Association of Central Utah and WorldatWork. Ms. Averett serves on the Executive Board of the United Way of Utah County, the Ouelessebougou Utah Alliance, Kids Voting Utah and the Advisory Board for the Brigham Young University Master's program in Organizational Behavior. She earned a B.A. in Spanish from Brigham Young University and graduated with an M.A. in guidance and counseling from Adams State University.
Michael N. Chang
Chief Scientific Advisor
Michael N. Chang, Ph.D. is chief scientific advisor for Nu Skin Enterprises. In this position he is responsible for providing comprehensive scientific guidance to Nu Skin Enterprises and Pharmanex. Before this he had served as senior vice president of research and development, and chief scientific officer of Pharmanex. Prior to joining Pharmanex, Dr. Chang served as Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Rhone Poulenc Rorer (now Aventis) and Deputy Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Merck. With over 15 years of pharmaceutical experience, his previous management responsibilities included the direction of several drug discovery projects and IND submissions. His research has resulted in more than 60 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and 35 patents. Dr. Chang holds a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Brandeis University and completed his post-doctoral fellowship at MIT.
D. Matthew Dorny
Vice President; General Counsel
D. Matthew Dorny was appointed Vice President and General Counsel of Nu Skin Enterprises in January 2003. Mr. Dorny previously served as Assistant General Counsel from May 1998 to January 2003. Prior to joining Nu Skin Enterprises, Mr. Dorny was a partner in the law firm of Parr, Waddoups, Brown, Gee & Loveless in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Dorny received a B.A. degree and a J.D. degree from the University of Utah.
Andrew Fan
Regional Vice-President, Southeast Asia, Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc.; President, Nu Skin Enterprises Hong Kong, Inc.; President, Nu Skin Enterprises Singapore Pte. Ltd.
Mr. Fan is Regional Vice President of Southeast Asia and President of Singapore and Hong Kong for Nu Skin Enterprises. He oversees directly six Nu Skin Enterprises' markets; namely, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand and the Philippines. He joined Nu Skin Enterprises Hong Kong, Inc. as Distribution Manager in September 1991. Since 1991, he has participated in the successful development and opening of the nine markets for Nu Skin Enterprises in Asia. He has been with Nu Skin Enterprises for eleven years and with the direct selling industry for seventeen years. Mr. Fan has been serving on the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Direct Selling Association since 1997 and served as President of the Hong Kong Direct Selling Association from 2000 to 2002. He is currently a Member of Board of Directors for the World Federation of Direct Selling Association. He is a graduate of the City University of Hong Kong and holds a B.A. (Hons) in Business Studies, majoring in Marketing & China Trade.
Joe Ford
Chief Operating Officer, Nu Skin USA
Joe Ford is Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nu Skin USA. Joe has been involved with Nu Skin and Big Planet since 1997 most recently as Vice President of IT. Mr. Ford's background is in technology and software as well as operations. He has worked as a consultant for many companies all over the world. Joe graduated number one in his class from the U.S. Army OCS. He is currently a member of the Industry Advisory Board for the IT School at Brigham Young University.
John F. Fralick
Vice President, Information Technology
John Fralick joined Nu Skin Enterprises in January 2000 and currently serves as Vice President of Information Technology, responsible for Development and Architecture. He brings to Nu Skin nearly 30 years of experience in information systems and has served in a variety of management positions at TRW, Inc., a leading multinational technology company, including Director of Technology and Director of Corporate Information Resources. Mr. Fralick earned a B.S. degree from the University of Michigan and an M.S. in Computing and Information Sciences from Case Western Reserve University.
James Frary
Vice President, IT Global Infrastructure
Jim Frary is currently serving as the Vice President of Global Infrastructure at Nu Skin Enterprises. His professional background includes experience at various Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Frary received his degree in electronic engineering at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Computer Communications Society. He also serves on several technical advisory boards.
Gary B. Garrett
Vice President, Corporate Administration
Gary Garret has worked for Nu Skin Enterprises since 1986 and he is currently Vice President of Corporate Administration. His assignment includes oversight of Nu Skin's property management and special events areas as well as Nu Skin's Force for Good Foundation. He is also involved in Nu Skin community and public relations. Gary earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Brigham Young University and a Master's in Public Administration from the BYU Marriott School of Management.
Rich M. Hartvigsen
Vice President, Global Regulatory Affairs
Rich Hartvigsen serves as Vice President of Global Regulatory Affairs of Nu Skin Enterprises. Previously, he served as General Counsel and Director of Legal Affairs for Nu Skin International. He joined Nu Skin International in 1989 as Legal Counsel. Prior to joining Nu Skin, he practiced business and corporate law. He is a former chairman of the Direct Selling Association's Government Relations Council and a member of DSA's Lawyer's and International Councils. Mr. Hartvigsen earned a B.S. degree in international relations, business and Chinese language from Brigham Young University and a J.D. degree from BYU's J. Reuben Clark Law School.
Sid Henderson
Vice President, Nu Skin Enterprises; Executive Director, Nourish the Children
Sid Henderson serves as Vice President of Materials Management for Nu Skin Enterprises and Executive Director of Nourish the Children, a Nu Skin Enterprises initiative. He has also filled executive positions in marketing and product development. He earned his B.A. degree in 1971 from Brigham Young University and began his career in business and project management with Bechtel Corporation. Sid spent 12 years in Saudi Arabia from 1978 to 1990, employed by the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO). He negotiated contracts with international companies to build communities, power plants and refineries. He joined Nu Skin in 1993.
Keith R. Howe
Vice President, Internal Auditing
Keith Howe came to Nu Skin Enterprises in 1998. Before joining the company, he served as a professor of accounting with the School of Accounting and Information Systems at Brigham Young University from 1980 to 1998. Mr. Howe's area of teaching and research interest was auditing-both internal and external audit. During his time at BYU, he took a leave of absence to work in fraud and litigation support with a national accounting firm. He has consulted with Fortune 100 companies and accounting firms regarding auditing processes and internal audit training. His publications include articles and books in the fields of Internal Auditing and Accounting Education. He has a Ph.D. in accounting from Arizona State University and an M.B.A. from the University of Utah. He is active in the audit profession, having served with the International Institute of Internal Auditing's Board of Regents and Research Foundation. Mr. Howe is a Certified Internal Auditor.
Brian R. Lords
Vice President, Finance; Treasurer
Brian Lords was appointed Treasurer and Vice President of Finance in November 2002. Since joining the company in 1991 he has served in the finance capacities of Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting, Canadian Controller, Budget Director, Nu Skin International Controller and Senior Director of Finance/Treasurer. Prior to joining Nu Skin Enterprises, he worked as an auditor for the international accounting firm of Deloitte and Touche in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mr. Lords is a Certified Public Accountant, and earned a B.S. in accounting from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. from Utah State University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and other business associations.
Larry D. Macfarlane
Vice President, Corporate Communications
Larry Macfarlane has served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Nu Skin Enterprises since 1996. He served as Managing Director of Corporate Communications from 1994 to 1996. Before joining Nu Skin, he worked as a visiting professor of Communications at Brigham Young University and ran his own consulting practice. Previously, he worked as a communications executive with Mountain Bell in Denver, Cheyenne and Phoenix; with AT&T in New York; and with U.S. West Communications in Denver. Mr. Macfarlane earned a B.S. degree from Utah State University and an M.S. from Brigham Young University.
Bart A. Mangum
Vice President, Operations, Nu Skin
Bart Mangum serves as Vice President of Operations for Nu Skin. Prior to this position, he spent two years as Senior Director of Materials Management, served as the SAP implementation project leader, and was heavily involved in evaluating and recommending process and system improvements related to supply chain management activities. Before joining Nu Skin in 1994, he worked as Vice President of Manufacturing with Weider Nutrition, and as Director of Operations with Nature's Sunshine Products. He has more than twenty years experience in operations, supply chain management and manufacturing.
Stewart McArthur
President, Nu Skin Europe
Stewart McArthur serves as President of Nu Skin Europe. Prior to joining Nu Skin in January 1999, Mr. McArthur served as Senior Vice President of Sales for the Swedish direct selling company Oriflame International S.A. Prior to joining Oriflame, Mr. McArthur served as managing director of Amway UK from 1980 to 1984, and as managing director over all of Amway's European operations from 1985 to 1992. Mr. McArthur has studied finance and marketing.
Bradley R. Morris
Vice President, Logistics
Brad Morris has served as Vice President of Logistics since February 1996. He joined Nu Skin in 1988 as a warehouseman and later became Warehouse Supervisor, Manager and Managing Director. He has served as the President of the Salt Lake Area Chapter of the Warehouse Education and Research Council. Mr. Morris earned a B.S. in business administration and a M.S. in business administration from the University of Phoenix.
Brett Nelson
Vice President, Business Support and Sales, United States
Brett Nelson currently serves as Vice President of Business Support and Sales in Nu Skin U.S.A. for Nu Skin Enterprises. Mr. Nelson has been with the company for over 12 years and has an extensive knowledge of the development of business strategies, representative relations, special events and global support. He lived in Hong Kong for three years where he headed up the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Nelson has been involved with the development of new markets, as well as established ones such as: Taiwan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Korea, and the Philippines.
Chris Nielson
Vice President of Finance, Controller
Chris Nielson was appointed as Nu Skin Enterprises' Vice President of Finance and Controller in November 2002. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Nielson served as Corporate Controller from 1997 to November 2002. From 1995 to 1996, he served as Assistant Director of New Market Development. Mr. Nielson is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Nu Skin Enterprises, Mr. Nielson worked for the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (formerly Coopers & Lybrand LLP). He earned a B.S. and a Master of Accountancy degree from Brigham Young University.
Jack Peterson
Vice President, Business Development, Pharmanex
Jack Peterson serves as Vice President of Business Development for Pharmanex. Jack has been actively involved in introducing the network marketing industry to the power of technological advances. He led the effort to develop the first VIP automated voice system for Nu Skin. Before coming to the company, he served as vice president and general manager at 2021.Interactive. There, he helped develop marketing strategies for startups and built complex compensation plans to revitalize failing companies. Prior to his involvement with 2021, he was an investment executive with Piper Jaffray.
R. Brent Ririe
Vice President, IT Project and Quality Management
Brent Ririe serves as Vice President of System Maintenance and Migration for Nu Skin Enterprises. He served as Vice President of Information Technology from July 1996 to January 2000. He also worked as Director of MIS for Nu Skin from 1989 to 1996. Since he joined Nu Skin, the company's technology infrastructure has expanded worldwide. Prior to joining Nu Skin, he worked as a Software Engineer and Production Manager at Signetics. Mr. Ririe earned a B.S. in computer science from Brigham Young University.
Scott E. Schwerdt
General Manager, United States
Scott Schwerdt serves as General Manager of U.S.A. for Nu Skin Enterprises. Schwerdt previously served as Vice President of North America/South Pacific Operations from 1992-1996. He also served as the Vice President of Europe for Nu Skin Enterprises from February 1996 to December 1998. He joined Nu Skin in 1988 as a Communications Representative and in December 1989 became Director of Distributor Services. Prior to joining Nu Skin, he was a Senior Resource Manager at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C. from 1984 to 1988. Schwerdt earned a B.A. degree in international relations from Brigham Young University.
Nigel Sinclair
President, Nu Skin Australia and New Zealand
Mr. Sinclair joined Nu Skin Enterprises in January 2001. He has more than 20 years of experience in the health and beauty industries and nearly 10 years of experience in the direct selling industry. From 1995 to 1998, he worked as managing director of Australia and New Zealand for Nutri-Metics International, a direct seller of cosmetic and toiletry products. Mr. Sinclair also served from 1991 to 1995 as president and managing director of Avon Products in Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, he served as the chief executive officer of the Leukaemia Foundation of New South Wales, Australia. In addition, he has served as president of the Cosmetic Toiletry Fragrance Association of Australia and as chairman of the Direct Selling Association of Australia.
Elizabeth Thibaudeau
Vice President, Marketing, Nu Skin
Elizabeth Thibaudeau serves as Vice President of Marketing for the Nu Skin division. She is responsible for the development and management of the global product pipeline as well as directing the strategic development of international marketing programs. Recently, Thibaudeau oversaw the development and global launch of Nu Skin Clear Action, Epoch Baby, and Perennial Intense Body Moisturizer. She has a broad range of experience in domestic and foreign markets with a strong focus on new business and product opportunities. Before joining Nu Skin in 1996, Thibaudeau worked in the advertising industry.
Alex Treharne
Vice President, Global Operations, Big Planet
Alex Treharne joined Nu Skin Enterprises in 1991. In 1993, Mr. Treharne took an assignment at the Tokyo office of Nu Skin Japan. During his eight-year assignment in Japan, he was a key member of the management team and fulfilled diverse assignments in that market, including Operations Manager, Osaka Branch Office and Director of Web Services and Vice President Technology/General Manager Big Planet Japan. Mr. Treharne was appointed Vice President of Global Operations for Big Planet in September 2002 and is currently responsible for all logistical and operational functions in Big Planet as well as global implementation of Big Planet's product line. Mr. Treharne graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Philosophy and Japanese Language.
Dane Van Pelt
Vice President, Finance, Tax and Customs
Dane Van Pelt was appointed Vice President of Finance, Tax and Customs in November 2002. Mr. Van Pelt has led the company's tax and customs department since 1992. Prior to joining Nu Skin Enterprises, he worked in the public accounting industry for 10 years. Most recently, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Los Angeles and Salt Lake City offices specializing in international tax. He is a member of the Tax Executives Institute, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and is the chairman of the International Tax Committee for the Direct Selling Association. Mr. Van Pelt graduated from Brigham Young University with a Master's degree in Accounting, emphasis in taxation.
Robert J. Young
Vice President, Marketing, Pharmanex
Robert Young serves as Vice President of Marketing for the Pharmanex division. Previously at Nu Skin, Young was Vice President of Global Web Strategy for Nu Skin Enterprises and Vice President of Business Marketing for the Nu Skin personal care division. Young has held various product development and in marketing positions throughout the company including Director of Corporate Creative Services. Mr. Young's prior direct-sales industry experience includes senior management positions in marketing, product development, and communications for Kaire Nutraceuticals and USANA Nutritionals. Mr. Young received his B.A. in Design at Brigham Young University.
