Taiwan National Biotech Awards, 2004

In 2004, Nu Skin Taiwan was awarded two National Biotech Awards. The first for their Nutrimmune Chews product and the second for their Tru Face Essence product. Nutrimmune Chews also received the silver level distinction in its category.

Taiwan's National Biotech Awards have been in existence for more than seven years. Each year more and more biotech and nutritional supplement companies compete for the awards. In 2004, there were 248 products or projects entered. Entrants are categorized in 10 different areas: Biotech, Medical instruments, Nutritional Supplement, Personal Care, Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Pharmaceuticals, Hospital, Nurse-Practitioner, and Overall Health.

In Nutritional Supplement category, 71 products were considered and only 25 received the National Quality Award. Pharmanex is the only direct sales company in the top three award recipients.

In personal care category, there were 20 products entered, and only six were given National Quality Awards. There were no other direct sales companies among the top three winners. 2004 was the most competitive year in the history of the award because the Taiwan DOH (Department of Health) was the sponsor. This marked the first year that the Taiwan DOH was the sponsor—so 2004 was the most challenging year in the history of the competition.
